CASES

Where we've made a difference.

A selection of our recent engagements.

125 monumental family-homes needed to be more sustainable. Where do you start?

THE SITUATION
The client wanted to make 125 family-homes - over 100 years old - more energy sufficient. The pressure to act was real, but the goal wasn't fully defined yet. Without a clear direction, the risk of making the wrong move first was high.

WHAT CHANGED
We assessed the situation and defined a clear starting point.
The right people were brought around the table. Monumental requirements were addressed upfront together with the municipality. The first decarbonising proposal was developed and submitted for approval.

THE VALUE
Green light from the monumental board.
Budget and execution sign-off followed. A situation driven by urgency became a structured, funded, executable project - without the detours.

SHAPING YOUR INITIATIVE
''We want to make these homes more sustainable by the end of the year, but we don't know where to start."

Having solar panels on multiple family homes sounds straightforward, until it isn't.

THE SITUATION
The client had committed to installing solar panels on family homes with high energy costs, driven by the ''Nationale Prestatieafspraken'' with the municipality.
The timeline was set and the ambition was clear. But when the work began, more complexity surfaced than expected. The project couldn't responsibly move forward without first addressing what was underneath.

WHAT CHANGED
We identified the underlying risks and resolved them before execution started. The energy transition policy was updated and approved by the board. Multiple departments were brought together around a shared picture of what needed to happen first.

THE VALUE
A solid business case. Real financial risks understood before committing. A program set up to move forward with confidence on a foundation that could actually hold.

DIRECTION FOR YOUR SUSTAINABILITY AMBITIONS
''We need to get solar panels on at least 30 family homes this year. We have an agreement with the municipality."

Renovation projects kept stalling. Were protected species the reason?

THE SITUATION
Flora and fauna compliance hadn't been integrated from the start. Budget was being lost. Timelines were collapsing. Nobody in the technical department had a clear picture of what compliance required or how urgent it was.

WHAT CHANGED
We developed a Flora and Fauna process from scratch and integrated it into the team's standard way of working. We organised a workshop with an ecologist so the team understood not just what to do, but why it mattered and how to apply it daily.

THE VALUE
No more projects stopped mid-execution. No more budget lost to avoidable restarts. A technical department that could handle Flora and Fauna independently - reducing dependency on outside expertise on every future project.

DIRECTION + KNOWLEDGE
"Every time we start a renovation, we hit the same wall: protected species on site and nobody on our team knows how to handle it."
